Though sometimes referred to as pearl tea, these tightly rolled balls of green tea are named gunpowder teas as they are said to resemble pellets of gunpowder. Only the finest leaf pluckings, which produce the smallest pellets, are described as Temple of Heaven. A refreshing green tea to enjoy throughout the day. From Zhejiang Province. - 100g Package

    Light to medium grassy flavor with a tinge of hay. Pleasant vegetal body with light astringency. Gentle, inoffensive aroma. Relatively smooth, and definitely a winner at this price point. This is a solid everyday tea with a healthy amount of caffeine. Only caveat is that it is easy to over-extract this tea and turn it unpleasantly bitter; the packaging recommends 1-3 minutes steep but I would recommend erring on the side of 1 to 1.5 minutes if you're steeping Western style. Re-steeps well and develops nicely on subsequent steeps.
